The solarising research has prompted ideas for applying to the image with Jasmine eating Ice cream. I want to desaturate the image then push the curves tool to add the solarise effect.

The original

This image was done by fully saturating the image. The foreground was too dark so I created a new layer and i pushed the exposure up. This led the sky losing the orange dawn effect, so i added another layer and then I used the brush tool to erase the exposure layer where the sky is to bring back the dawn oranges with hints of magenta and azure blue.
I have looked at some solarisation techniques by the likes of man ray. I like how the plains within the image are emphasised and add a whole new perspective and has an illusion feels like surrealism. The image taken from photo idea index that i scanned yesterday of the woman sat in a meditative position with railing running along side of her. The normal image appears static compared to the negative effect opposite. In the solarised image the railing move further away leading the eyes forwards to the subject. However the subject appears to move forward creating a surreal effect.

I like the use of colour within this research, they are full of clarity and vibrancy.
I have done some research to develop ideas for my images for the calender. I have looked at Mika Ninagawa's images that are vibrant and striking with tones of pink and orange and blues. I like the combinations of all these colours which have inspired me to apply to the image with jasmine looking out to the coastline.

I really liked the effect on the photograph on the right hand side, it has negative effect. This is sort of idea I want to accomplish on one of my images.
